Documentary Film: “Concentration Camp ISOLATION”
A screening of the 2023 documentary about the cultural platform IZOLYATSIA, followed by a discussion.
In 2014, IZOLYATSIA’s premises in Donetsk, Ukraine were seized by Russian occupation forces. The site was looted, artworks destroyed, and over the past decade transformed into an illegal prison – described as Europe’s largest torture centre – where Ukrainian soldiers and civilians continue to be held.
The film traces the story of a cultural institution under occupation at a time when Ukraine’s cultural heritage, freedom of expression, and human lives are being deliberately destroyed.
After the screening: discussion with Solvita Krese, Dāvis Kaņepe, Ieva Raudsepa, and Vira Protskykh.
