Jāņu Riti – Midsummer Festival at Uzvaras Park

A full day and night of Latvian midsummer traditions at Uzvaras Park – folk music, wreath weaving, cheese making, sauna whisk workshops, dancing, and a bonfire ritual until 02:00.
The evening highlight: a large-scale dance performance “Jāņu nakti darināju” by dance ensemble Daiļrade (celebrating their 35th anniversary) with mixed choir Sōla – an immersive midsummer ritual where the audience becomes part of the show. Original choreography, costumes, and music created especially for this performance.
Programme highlights:

15:00 – Folk concerts from all Latvian regions (Kurzeme, Vidzeme, Latgale, Zemgale, Augšzeme)

21:00 – Bonfire decoration and singing with group Zāle

23:00 – Dance performance “Jāņu nakti darināju”

00:15 – Bonfire lighting ritual and dancing with Rikši until 02:00
Workshops, craft market, and food on site from 15:00. Traditional dress encouraged.
