Latvian Film Marathon – May 4, 2026

The National Film Centre of Latvia presents the 22nd annual Latvian Film Marathon – a full day of free screenings at Kino Splendid Palace, plus a simultaneous online stream available worldwide via filmas.lv.

This year’s theme: flight – from a bird’s wing to a flight of thought. The programme includes new film premieres, archival gems, animation for children, and a tribute to composer Raimonds Pauls on his 90th birthday.

At Splendid Palace: 9 screenings across two halls starting from 13:00, closing with an outdoor evening screening in Splendid Garden at 21:30. Highlights include premieres of Putnubiedēkļi by Laila Pakalniņa, Nospiedumi by Alise Zariņa, and documentary Mildas istaba. The 18:30 screening features a restored 1979 Estonian fantasy thriller Hotel at the End of the Mountain with Latvian actor Uldis Pūcīte.
