At the Blue Danube at the Latvian National Opera

At the Blue Danube, a three-act ballet set to the music of Johann Strauss, is on the Latvian National Opera programme this Sunday. Built around Strauss’s waltz-rich music, the production offers a classical midday performance in central Riga without taking up the whole day.

Mārtiņš Ozoliņš is the production’s music director and conductor. For the 12:00 performance, the announced cast includes Annija Kopštāle, Yuliya Brauer and Raimonds Martinovs. There is another performance at 18:00 with a different cast; this listing is specifically for the midday show.

The ballet begins at noon and is scheduled to finish at 14:10. The Latvian National Opera is on Aspazijas bulvāris beside the city canal, a few minutes on foot from the Old Town.
