Nabucco at the Latvian National Opera

Giuseppe Verdi’s Nabucco returns to the Latvian National Opera on Saturday evening, with Mārtiņš Ozoliņš conducting the four-act opera. The work was Verdi’s breakthrough, and its large-scale choral writing remains one of the reasons it has stayed in the repertoire for nearly two centuries.

The Riga production uses the passage of time as its visual and dramatic framework. The movement of the sun and the course of human life are woven into a story concerned with power, judgement and belief. Jānis Apeinis and Julija Vasiljeva are among the cast announced for the September performance.

The curtain rises at 19:00, with the performance scheduled to run until 21:50 at the Latvian National Opera on Aspazijas bulvāris. Tickets are currently listed from €20 to €75.
