SUMMARY:Perseid Night with Reinis Zariņš at Riga Botanical Garden
DESCRIPTION:One of Riga’s more unusual summer nights combines astronomy with a live outdoor piano concert at the University of Latvia Botanical Garden. \nThe evening begins with a talk by University of Latvia astronomer Vitālijs Kuzmovs. Visitors can then join a constellation walk and observe the night sky through telescopes provided by ieskaties.lv. \nAt 22:45\, pianist Reinis Zariņš will perform Lielā nakts mūzika\, a programme created for the event featuring music by Bach\, Arvo Pärt\, Philip Glass\, Brahms and Messiaen\, alongside his own improvisations. \nProgramme\n\n21:00: Entry opens\n22:00: Astronomy talk\, constellation walk and telescope viewing\n22:45: Open-air concert by Reinis Zariņš\n\nBring a warm blanket\, sleeping bag or folding chair\, a thermos and mosquito repellent. You can also bring your own telescope. Refreshments will be available during the evening. \nA wheelchair-accessible area will be provided. In case of heavy rain\, the event may be postponed or cancelled\, so check the Botanical Garden’s channels before travelling. \n🎟 Tickets: €15 for general admission.
