DESCRIPTION:Baltic Analog Lab and Skaņu Mežs present an evening of sound performances by two artists in residence: Erik Alalooga (Estonia) and Lai Tsung-Yun (Taiwan). \nErik Alalooga is a performance director\, sound artist\, and cultural manager based in Tallinn. His work explores DIY analog technological solutions and the immediate relationship between human and machine\, including psychedelic noise\, pseudo-shamanism\, and neo-industrial music using unconventional mechanical instruments. \nThis evening he presents three new pieces receiving their world premiere: Curse upon Electricity\, The Boreal Desert\, and a third work yet to be titled. This is the first time in his decade-long career that he has divided a performance into separate named works. \nLai Tsung-Yun is a Taiwanese sound and media artist working with modular synthesis\, algorithmic systems\, field recordings\, and real-time processing. Since 2013\, he has curated the Lacking Sound Festival\, Taiwan’s longest-running experimental sound platform.
